OUR CITIZENS' RESPONSES
"I heard Catina Mack on Magic 107.7 FM very early this morning and she was fantastic. I will be in Sanford, Friday the 4th to hear the National Anthem as it was meant to be sung. I hope everyone has a great time and our soldiers overseas, etc. know our prayers are with them and their families."
Joe C. ~ Casselberry, FL
"She does it right. She sings the song straight up with no pop diva flourishes and showmanship. A great voice and people can even sing (OUR song) along with her.
God bless her and God bless America.
Major Tom ~ Vine Grove, KY
"I agree with Major Tom that "The Star Spangled Banner" is OUR song and it was a pleasure to hear members of the audience joining in as she sang. As I type this, I am watching "A Capital Fourth" on WMFE TV from Washington, DC. I do not know the performer who opened with "The Star Spangled Banner", but I would rather hear Catina Mack from Sanford. My congratulations to her for a CORRECT performance of MY (OUR) NATIONAL ANTHEM. I hope she continues to share her musical talent in this very patriotic way!"
Jemmie Smith ~ AOL
"This is patriotism! We should all love our country and be willing to sing about it, even if we don't sing quite as well as she does. Or at least speak well of it."
Julie Clark ~ Jonesboro, AR
"Wow, she is very good. Happy 4th to all Americans...Democrats and Republicans."
Scott C. ~ Winter Springs, FL
"Wow. I love people who find a life's work from a specific craft or talent--what an interesting way to make a living, and imagine some of the people she's met and places she's been (and will go!) I love listening to the Star Spangled Banner, but hate it for not being able to join in...it's a wonderfully stirring tune, but just bloody impossible to sing, unless you're a trained coloratura - or Catina."
